Oliver Berliner

Montreal-born Oliver Berliner is the grandson of inventor Emile Berliner. He was initially a record producer and later became a music publisher. He is the author of two books and dozens of speeches, lectures and articles on the subjects of music, audio and video. His letters have been published in the Los Angeles Times, Business Week and the Wall Street Journal.  He appeared or has been interviewed on numerous radio and television channels.

He is also featured in On Record: The Soundtrack of Our Lives which chronicles the impact of his grandfather's inventions (microphone, gramophone and method of producing unlimited copies of a master recording) have had on modern life.  
On Record: The Soundtrack of Our Lives, is an eight-hour series that traces the history of recorded music and its impact on popular culture. Featuring hundreds of artists from all genres of music, the documentary is slated to air nationally as a primetime series in the Fall of 2010 on PBS; Sir George Martin, legendary producer of the Beatles, will host. Two-time Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey will narrate.
